Learn-to-Play Gaelic Football Sessions 2019


Come and try a new sport!
Calgary Chieftains will be hosting a series of Co-Ed introductory sessions where you can learn the fundamental skills of Gaelic Football! Tell your friends that everyone is welcome to give it a go.

Location: Calgary West Soccer Centre, 11014 Bearspaw Dam Road NW, Calgary, Alberta T3L1S4

Cost: $10 per session or $45 for 5 sessions paid upfront. Please note change in time from week to week.

Session 1 - Field#3 Monday January 21st 8:15-9:15pm

Session 2 - Field #1 Monday January 28th 8-9pm
Session 3 - Field #3 Monday February 4th 7:15 - 8:15pm
Session 4 - Field #3 Monday February 11th 8:15-9:15pm
Session 5 - Field #3 Monday February 18th 7-8pm

What is Gaelic Football? Combine the agility of soccer, the handling skills of basketball and the hand-eye coordination of rugby into one great sport.

Calgary Chieftains need your help!

Calgary Chieftains have applied to the Field Law Community Fund with the Calgary Kangaroos, Calgary Kookaburras and River Valley School to upgrade playing fields at Bowness for our sport-specific use. If successful, this will be first full-size GAA field in Western Canada and an important hub for the development of Gaelic games in Calgary.

We really need EVERYONE's help on this. All you need to do to vote is go to the below link and click on VOTE. It's that simple. One vote per device. Feel free to share the link amongst friends, family and supporters!

Calgary's 1st Juvenile Gaelic Football Game

Come down and see history being made, as the inaugural match between Calgary's two underage GAA clubs, Calgary Fianna and Calgary Chieftains Óg takes place on Saturday April 22nd.

The game will take place between 11am and 2pm at River Valley School Early Learning Campus 6305 33 Ave NW Calgary, AB.

Refreshments and presentations will take place following the game at the Irish Cultural Centre. Let's support the future of GAA in Calgary!

Calgary Spring 7-a-side Gaelic Football League 2017

It's finally here! Calgary Chieftains are excited to announce the 2017 Spring round of the Men's and Ladies' 7-a-Side Gaelic Football League. The league is open to anyone and everyone who would like to take part and all skill levels are welcome. The league will run each Tuesday for a period of 5 weeks, from April 18th - May 16th at Acadia Athletic Park.

Registration will be open until Saturday April 15th. Individuals will be assigned to a team for the duration of the league and teams will be announced after registration is complete. This league is free for members who have paid their registration in full. There will be a registration fee of $30 for those who are not club members. Sign up now!
